1901

Shortly after the turn of the century, community leaders saw the need for a local bank. A charter was granted to J.M. Ainsworth, I.M. Boone, and J.L. Bevington, forming The Hicksville National Bank in October 1901. Mr. Ainsworth served as the first president, while Boone and Bevington—co-owners of a local department store—took on leadership roles as Vice-President and Cashier.

1930s

Of the three Hicksville banks at the time, only The Hicksville National Bank weathered the storm of the Great Depression. The bank’s strength and conservative values helped it stand firm when others closed.

1946

To better serve a growing community, the bank was reorganized with broader ownership. It became The Hicksville Bank, transitioning from a national charter to a state-chartered institution with local shareholders.

1988

The bank opened its first branch office in Edgerton, Ohio, marking the beginning of regional growth beyond its original location.

1999

In March of 1999, The Hicksville Bank crossed state lines, launching a second branch in Auburn, Indiana, to meet the needs of a growing customer base.

2024

In January 2024, the bank expanded again, opening a new full-service location in Grabill, Indiana, continuing its mission of bringing community banking to more families and businesses.
